Saturday, June 11, 2011 at 1 pm, the MD18 LEO Council will meet at the Georgia Lions State Convention - Atlanta Marriott Gwinnett Place.

EARLY COUNTY LEOs sponsor Fall Banquet:

On Tuesday, December 7th, the Early County LEO Club held it's Fall Banquet.  In attendance there were 40 LEOs (28 new this year!) and 35 parents, guests and Lions. Speakers for the event were the new School Superintendent and the High School Principal.  Congratulations on your great event!

CLARK MIDDLE SCHOOL LEOS (Athens, GA) WIN AGAIN! Once again, this active bunch was given the LEO Club Excellence Award (2009-2010).

Seminole County LEOs have been working hard!  In November they helped the Donaldsonville Lions with their Pancake Supper Fundraiser.  They also decided they would be Secret Santa for a Seminole County child and they are collecting canned goods to help the Lake Lions feed the needy for Christmas!  See the photos of these activities and of the SC LEOs in the Christmas Parade in the Photo Gallery.

In addition, Seminole County LEOs will be attending the LEO Gathering in January as well as their District and the State Lions Convention.


State/District LEO Chair Steve Helwig was recently elected to the Georgia Lions 18D Hall of Fame for his many years of Lions service and his many achievements including his work with LEOs (photo coming soon)


Clarke Middle School LEO Club in Athens Makes the Front Page of Paper

Clarke Middle School students and LEO Club members Jasmin Arias, from left, Kaitlyn Hooker and Rebecca Butler chop away weeds in the Brooklyn Cemetery on Saturday.

According to the Athens Banner-Herald:  "A group of Clarke Middle School students have dedicated themselves this year to cleaning up a 19th-century cemetery for working-class blacks and trying to preserve some of the tangled history underneath the weedy, overgrown graves."
